The Primavera Coach Massimo Brambilla commented on the 2-2 draw with Sassuolo on Matchday 23 of the 2020-2021 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship: “We did very well in the first half. Then, unfortunately, after Gelmi picked up an injury, we conceded a goal from a corner. We were unfocused at that moment and Sassuolo pressed high in the second half. They pushed a lot and we weren’t able to play well anymore. They caused many difficulties for us. In the end, I told the boys that when you can’t win a match, you can’t lose. We have to think that way as well. Moreover, we also had a physical drop. The Wednesday match against Empoli cost us a lot of effort. In the end, I think that the draw was fair”.

There were some changes again in the squad today caused by injuries. From that point of view, the season hasn’t been very lucky. “I only regret that we have never had the full team available. But it’s part of the game. Especially, when you play three matches a week, the impossibility to rotate or make some players take a break can be easily noticed during the matches. But we know that we have strong players that can do well. Those who played always played their part. You can’t think that you can win all the matches. We must just keep on moving in this direction. I always pay attention to the performance and not to victories or losses. And the performance was good today as well: when we had to struggle, we did it all together. When we were in control of the game, we did it well and these are the positive sides”.
