In the last match of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM matchday 26 Inter win 1-0 at the Meazza stadium in Milan thanks to a goal at the beginning of the second half.
It was a high tempo first half, with both teams facing each other with great determination. Atalanta immediately showed up with a poisonous cross from Gosens but Zapata couldn’t get at the end of it. A great defensive tackle from Djimsiti denied Lukaku on 25. In the final minutes, Atalanta came close to scoring from two consecutive corners: Handanovic pushed away Zapata’s header on 39 and then Brozovic cleared off the line Djimsiti’s header.
In the second half, Inter took the lead on 54 through Skriniar who found the back of the net from a corner kick. Three minutes later, Romero with a great tackle denied Lukaku who was through on goal. The pressure built up in order to look for an equaliser for Toloi and his teammates. Zapata skimmed the post with a fierce strike on 68 then Muriel, who had just come off the bench, tested Handanovic who had to parry with his foot. In the late forcing, the best chance came off Pašalić who volleyed just wide (84). It ended 1-0 at the Meazza.
