Atalanta will be in for yet another edge-of-the-seat fixture: after their back-to-back games in Milan, the Gewiss Stadium will open its gates to  host Bologna, currently on a winning streak of 5 consecutive games.

How’s the all-time track record in all competitions? 

Out of the overall 124 match-ups contended thus far, the Serie A stands out as the favoured game board, with 105 fixtures. Moreover, the two sides lock together in perfect parity with 45 wins apiece and 34 draws. How many caps did Orsolini make as a Nerazzurro?

After joining Atalanta on loan from Juventus in the summer of 2017,  Riccardo Orsolini made his Serie A debut as a Nerazzurro on the 17th of September 2017, hitting the pitch in the away 1-1 draw against Verona. Oddly enough, the also the European debut of the Ascoli-born winger coincided with another 1-1 on-the-road tie, to Apollon Limassol this time. By the end of his loan spell, Orsolini totalled 9 appearances between the Serie A, the Europa League and the Coppa Italia, while also favouring Toloi’s goal in Atalanta’s 2-1 win over -Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia RO16.

 

How did the last MD27 match-up go?

The last Serie A MD27 matchup dates back to the 1996/97 season, when Atalanta hosted a then third-placed Bologna: while Mondonico lined up the Inzaghi-Morfeo-Lentini trio upfront, Ulivieri retorted with Kolyvanov as the sole Rossoblù striker. After the first half flowed with no remarkable goal chances despite Atalanta’s best attempt at stepping up the pace in the closing minutes, results came along all at once in the second half: after dribbling past his marker, Lentini loosened a right-footed drive that, after rebounding off Torrisi, edged past Antoniolito give Atalanta the lead. The Nerazzurri’s attempt to capitalize on the momentum found no reward, though as Scapolo laid the ex’s law to sew up the final 1-1 draw.
