A record first half of the season: 36 pts

The record of last season has been broken

The first half of the season ended with a victory away to leaders Milan and a new record in the history of the Club. It had never happened that the Nerazzurri reached the halfway point of the season being on 36 points, one point more than last campaign. This is an important result, which allows Gasperini’s men to sit three points behind third-placed Roma.

36 points are the result of ten wins (perfectly divided between matches at the Gewiss Stadium and away matches), six draws and only three defeats (this is also the best-ever score at the end of the first round in the 20-team Serie A), with 44 goals scored (second-best attack) and 23 suffered. The victory away to Milan has also extended Atalanta’s unbeaten run, which has been lasting for ten games in the league (thirteen in all competitions).
