Atalanta 0-2 Hellas Verona

The visitors win at the Gewiss Stadium

On the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM matchday 9, Hellas Verona win 2-0 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo thanks to two goals in the second half.

It was a very intense game in each half of the pitch, the best chances in the first half came off the Nerazzurri. On 18 a Zapata assist sees Iličić fire over the bar with his left foot. Three minutes later Freuler sent his finish wide. On 34 a splendid Papu right-foot effort stung Silvestri’s gloves. In the second half the visitors had a chance with Veloso on 53, when his left-foot strike hit the bar. The Nerazzurri immediately responded to it after a minute with Zapata and Hateboer who tested Silvestri twice in the same move and then Tameze cleared on Toloi and Zapata couldn’t find the winning deflection, everything in all of a sudden. A Di Carmine header was wide on 58. The visitors’ goal came minutes later, on 62 though a Veloso penalty (Toloi fouled Zaccagni). The substitute Muriel came close to scoring twice, but Zaccagni doubled the visitors’ lead on 83 to give the Hellas Verona the three points. We’re back to the Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday for the penultimate group stage matchday of the Champions League: Midtjylland will be the opponent.
