A 2-2 draw at the Gewiss Stadium against Hellas Verona

Scamacca and Éderson on target

Matchday 32 saw the two teams share spoils at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.

The Nerazzurri got off to a strong start and broke the deadlock on 13 minutes when Koopmeiners with a through ball set up Scamacca, who trapped the ball and hit a volley into the roof of the net to open the scoring. And Scamacca turned assister five minutes later, setting up Éderson who doubled Atalanta’s lead. After Lazovic attempted a lob, which ended off target, the Nerazzurri threatened twice through Koopmeiners, who volleyed over from close range on 22 minutes and hit an angled drive which was inches wide on 32 minutes), Pašalić, who ballooned over in the 23rd minute and whose 31st-minute header was parried, and then through De Ketelaere, who tested the visiting goalkeeper.

The visitors hit back in the second half. Lazovic pulled one back with a clear-cut finish from the edge of the box in the 56th minute, while Noslin levelled the score in the 60th minute. With the advantage all gone, the Nerazzurri had to do it all over again. Miranchuk gave it a whirl on 74 minutes but Montipò managed to thwart his effort at the second attempt, while Holm fired over on 79 minutes. Then it was Miranchuk who carried the team’s offensive efforts in the closing minutes of the game, first by forcing Montipo’s on 87 minutes to parry a left-footed drive and then in the 91st minute, when Lesha saw his finish on Koopmeiners’ right-flanked cross negated by the opposing keeper. As the last chance of the game found no vindication, the Gewiss Stadium game culminated in a 2-2 draw.
