Iličić broke the deadlock on 14 after he was sent clear by de Roon and beat the offside trap to go past Sirigu (the goal was given after the VAR check). Gosens, who was playing as a right wing-back, scored the double on 19 after being set up by Muriel. The Nerazzurri made it 3-0 with Muriel, whose first shot was saved by Sirigu, but then he tapped in the rebound. Before half-time, Torino got back into the game: they were given a penalty on 42 and Belotti managed to fire in the rebound, after his spot-kick was saved by Gollini. Bremer made it 3-2 on 46.

Iličić’s effort at the start was parried, then Toloi made a decisive block on Zaza on 63, while Zapata fired off target with a powerful right-foot shot five minutes later. Singo’s trivela bounced off the top corner on 70, then Miranchuk – with an angled drive – was denied by the post. Torino made it all square on 84 through Bonazzoli, who headed in Verdi’s free-kick.
