Atalanta For Special: unveiling the Academy

Made official during the gathering for the Christmas greetings

In an afternoon of joy and delight, not only did the “Salone Adobati” of the Nembro chapel host the gathering for the exchange of  Christmas greetings with all the Atalanta For Special athletes, relatives and supporters; but was also the appointed site and occurrence for the official unveiling of the For Special Academy.

Henceforth, in addition to the team current competing in the DPCS (Group B, Tier 3) championship, the black-and-blue inclusivity project will also comprise a new division, specifically aimed at introducing and nurturing the passion for football also among the youngest fringes. As of now, the group consists of 20 boys and one girl.

The afternoon gathering was attended by the Director General Umberto Marino, the Head of the Youth Academy Roberto Samaden, the psycho-pedagogists of the educational staff Lucia Castelli and Luca Pala, in addition to captain Alberto Masi and Alassane Sidibe -both acting as representatives of the Under-23 side and accompanied by the Team Manager Nicola Brunello. Cristina Radici Percassi was the guest of honour of the event.

The event also gave the opportunity to thank Gianmario Lesmo, Atalanta For Special’s appointed coach, for his job and, by extension, to convey the Club’s appreciation to the whole staffing, technical and executive branches in equal measure, of Nembrese 1913 -the team that has joined forces with Atalanta in the implementation and development of the For Special project; starting off with the First Team and, from today onward, extending their commitment with the upcoming Youth Sector.

With 2023 coming to its close, the Atalanta For Special side will send their New Year’s Greetings at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday, December 30, during the Atalanta v Lecce match.
