As Atalanta finished the  2022/23 Serie A TIM season in 5th, not only had the Black-and-blues seized a European spot for the 6th time in the last 7 seasons but they have also been within the Top-7 from start to finish.

The 5th place (a placement clinched only once before, in the 1947-1948 season) also counts as the fifth-ever best overall in the history of the Club – only bested by three consecutive third-place finishes from 2018 to 2021 and a fourth place in the 2016-2017 campaign.

On their run to the 64 points, Atalanta have also accrued several top-5 stat placements, flaunting: the 3rd highest tally of away points (31); the 3rd best attack of the Serie A season; the 4th best overall in terms of total assist (42) and a 5th overall place for corners taken(194). Moving on to performance-related stats, the Nerazzurri took runners-up honours for both the average distance travelled by the whole team per game (113.199 km) and the average running distance (65.787 km).

With 66 goals (and 42 assists) Atalanta’s scoring capacity (goals/shots) amounts to 12%. Overall, 513 shots have been loosened (with 178 of them on target and 139 deflected), for a total of 404 scoring chances. Posts and crossbars have been hit 12 times. The Black-and-blues have crossed 461 times (with 219 fruitful crosses), have taken 194 corners and have been caught offside 58 times. Our goalies have performed 107 saves, 2513 balls have been retrieved and the average ball possession per game adds up to 28’17”. Atalanta’s most prolific fifteen-minute window has been the one ranging between minutes 45th to the 6oth with 17 goals scored. As for all the others: 16 goals between the 30′ and the 45′; 14 from the  75th to the 90th; 8 in between both the 15′- 30′ and the 60′-75′ ranges and 3 in the first quarter-hour.
