Borelli wins 2019-2020 “Cronometro d’oro”

Best fitness coach by the FIGC

Domenico Borelli has been given the “Cronometro d’oro” award for the season 2019-2020 as the best Serie A fitness coach by the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) Technical sector. The award has been presented for the first time. After the “Panchina d’Oro” given to Gian Piero Gasperini, another important award is received by an Atalanta Staff member, which gives credit to the big work done over these years.

The fact that the prize was given on the basis of the colleagues’ opinion, who expressed their preferences by voting online, makes it even more significant.

“This award – as the President of the FIGC Technical Sector, Demetrio Albertini, pointed out on the official FIGC website – underlines the importance that our Technical sector gives to athletic trainers and to their job and gives value to what they do. As a football player, I was also able to witness the value of the trainers’ job firsthand as they helped me grow professionally”.

In Serie A – as the FIGC note states – Borelli received the most votes and is followed by his colleagues Paolo Barbero of Hellas Verona and Antonio Pintus of Inter, who share second place.

“The “Cronometro d’oro” – commented winner Domenico Borelli – is an award that I have received thanks to all the work done by Atalanta, thanks to all the results achieved with the team. Personally, for me, it’s a great satisfaction. However, this award must be shared with all the Club and all my colleagues who make part of the coaching staff of the Club”.
