Massimo Brambilla is surely satisfied with the 4-1 win over Bologna on Matchday 21 of the 2020-2021 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship: “It’s the second straight win and we’ve got other three important points. The performance was good, too. We only had a moment during the match in which we made a few mistakes in keeping the ball. That’s when we allowed them to create some opportunities, including the penalty that could have cost us a 2-2 draw. From that moment on, we took over the match again, though. We did well to deservedly score the third and the fourth goals. I liked the team’s performance. They did what we are trying to do in this second part of the season. We have top players this year as well and they often and willingly take over the situation when it counts”.
It was a hard-won victory despite what the result can make you think: “There are no easy matches this year. In general, I see the games are hard-fought. There’s a good balance and then one episode is enough to ruin the balance”.
There are many teams with little difference in points that are fighting for the playoffs: “There’s a good balance. We started badly but now we are doing well and we must try to keep on improving as a team to gain victories. It’s an abnormal championship because it’s May and there are still 10 games to play. That run of draws made us drop out a bit from the top. Now if we want to achieve something concrete, we must start winning. But we have all the quality to do it. The table is short. There are many teams with little difference in points that are fighting for a spot in the playoffs and we are one of those. We must train well as we are doing because you can see the hard work you do during the week when you play the match”.
