CEO Percassi: “Field worth more than words”

Ajax-Atalanta post-match interview

A great satisfaction for everyone, starting with the Percassi’s: the Atalanta President suffered from home, the CEO, as always, accompanied the team. At the end of the match the comment of CEO Luca Percassi, also to what was said in the days before the match against Ajax: “The pitch is worth more than a thousand words”. Here is the interview with our CEO.

“I’m extremely happy for everyone, for the whole Atalanta world. This is yet another proof of how much hard work has rewarded us over the years. This evening was really special”.

What did President Percassi say?

“He interprets the thoughts of all the fans who are at home, who unfortunately couldn’t be here tonight. He could have been here, but he’s very superstitious. He is as happy as a baby”.

Atalanta could count on two results: a draw and a win, but they decided to win the game. Against Liverpool and Ajax, the history of football.

“That’s the way it is. This competition, and the UEFA, allow us to live amazing and unique experiences in stadiums, like tonight’s stage, which are the temple of football. We have a big regret as we couldn’t share this experience with our fans here. But we know how much joy this Atalanta gave to the whole city in a strange year”.

It’s been an unusual week. We’ve heard too many rumours that have little to do with football.

“We’re sorry for this, I personally covered my ears, but I believe tonight’s performance is worth more than a thousand words that have been said and written. This shows that the only goal of the club is to work, trying to make as few mistakes as possible, to grow. We have a manager, a group and players who work hard day by day to get what we’re achieving on the pitch. Tonight’s performance is the proof that the pitch is worth more than a thousand words that have been said or written at this particular time”.

There’s nothing to add, the result speaks for itself. The icing on the cake is that the Percassi’s are always there when needed.

“We’re not used to speaking, but it was fair to do so tonight, not to beatify us or rewards us with a goal that I hope to live again, although we know how difficult this competition is and how difficult is to get here”.

People from Bergamo wanted to hear these words, the Atalanta fans.

“Yes. I’m speaking on behalf of my family and my dad to say that we’re 24/7 in Zingonia, 365 days per year, for the sake of this club. In the mistakes that we will commit and that we commit daily, we have this goal. We don’t know other ways: only hard work rewards you”.
