Time’s up! Demolition day is finally here!

Before the demolition of the Curva Sud Morosini and the Away Sector was set into motion, the press room of the Gewiss Stadium hosted the institutional gathering attended by, respectively: Atalanta’s President Antonio Percassi, Atalanta’s CEO Luca Percassi, FIGC Secretary-General Marco Brunelli, the CEO of Lega Serie A Luigi De Siervo and Francesco Valesini, the Councilor for the Urban Renewal at the Municipality of Bergamo.

The meeting was also graced by the presence of representatives from all the sponsors and firms appointed as contractors for the refurbishment and the press.

After the press conference, it was finally time for our esteemed attendees to hit the pitch.

It was then our President, Antonio Percassi, who did the honours and kick-started the demolition: after the first symbolic “bite” on the inner side of the Away Sector, demolition could officially begin.

The CAT 6015 Jumbo Demolition, one of the biggest demolition machines in the world, has been kindly provided by Despe, a leading firm in the industry established in Bergamo, and deployed on the square opposing the Curva, to commence the demolition of the Curva Sud Morosini.
