Giorgio Scalvini is the winner of the 2023 Best Italian Golden Boy, the prestigious award established by Tuttosport and awarded by an international panel of sports journalists to the best Under 21 Italian player of the year.

An undoubtedly important award for the 19-year-old defender born and bred in the Atalanta Academy who already flaunts, despite his young age, 69 appearances for the Club in all competitions, further embellished by the 4 goals and 2 assists to his name and 7 caps for the Italian Senior National team. As another prominent landmark of his career at Atalanta, his first goal in a European competition played an essential role in securing the key victory over Sporting Club de Portugal at the José Alvalade Stadium this season.

As part of the awarding rationale that tipped the scales in Scalvini’s favour, the panel wished to underscore “his commitment, his dedication and his footballing achievements”.
