On matchday 28 of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM, Atalanta win 2-0 over Hellas Verona at the Bentegodi stadium in Verona.
The first chance arrived on 24: Malinvoskyi’s free-kick found the head of Romero, but Silvestri saved the header. Zapata shrugged off his defenders on 31 but Silvestri parried with his foot. Dimarco’s handball from the resulting corner awarded a penalty to Atalanta. Malinovskyi sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and broke the deadlock from the spot on 33. Zapata saw another attempt blocked, this time by the upright, on 37. But he then scored on 42 when the Colombian ran onto a Malinovskyi flicked header, easily out-sprinted a defender and delicately prod the finish past on-rushing Silvestri to double the Nerazzurri’s lead.
In the second half, the Nerazzurri were in control of the 2-0 lead without having too much trouble, apart from an effort from Lazovic which was saved by on-rushing Gollini on 74. In the final minutes, Muriel and Iličić almost made it 3-0. The Colombian fired wide after an outstanding solo move on 87, while the Slovenian hit the bar with a left-foot curler from the edge of the box on 92. Finally, Kovalenko’s debut in the final minutes is also worth mentioning.
