Historic record for the club after 5 games

And the team kept a clean sheet in the first three away matches

It had never happened in the club’s history to be top of the Serie A alone after five matches. Thanks to the victory at Monza, Gasperini’s team managed to write this new page in Atalanta’s history: never before had the team led Serie A alone at this point in the league. This record is the result of four victories (at the Gewiss Stadium against Torino and away against Sampdoria, Hellas Verona and Monza) and one draw against the reigning Italian champions Milan in Bergamo. With 13 points, Gasperini’s team are two points clear of Milan and Napoli, who sit on 11 points.

At Monza, Atalanta set another record in the club’s history, as they kept a clean sheet in their first three Serie A away matches for the first time. It happened in Genoa (2-0 over Sampdoria), Verona (1-0 over Hellas) and Monza (2-0).
