On matchday 26 of the 2023-2024 Primavera 1 TIM, coach Bosi’s lads defeated Frosinone 2-0 at the Carillo Pesenti Pigna in Alzano Lombardo to move up to 46 points in third place in the standings.
The away side opened the first half on the offensive with only the crossbar eventually negating Romano’s attempt in the early minutes of the game. Frosinone’s efforts were then thwarted twice in a matter of minutes by Pardel, who performed two key saves to defuse Selvini and, foremost, Molignano’s attempts on minutes 28 and 32 respectively. The second half saw Castiello have his go with the goal on 53 minutes with a left-footed drive, which ended up high over the woodwork. After being unleashed by a swift give-and-go, Vavassori saw his encroachment halted by the opposing keeper. The deadlock was broken in the 75th minute through Colombo, who carried the ball to the edge of the box and fired into the far bottom corner to beat the visiting goalkeeper and give Atalanta the lead. In the 84th minute, Riccio found Vavassori, who controlled the ball with his chest and hit a shot on the half-volley to double the Nerazzurri’s lead. Guerini also had a chance in the 86th minute but hit the side netting. The game ended in a 2-0 win for the Nerazzurri.
