In the quarterfinals of the 2021-2022 Primavera TIMVISION Cup, Atalanta win 4-2 and head into the semifinals after putting in a great performance at the “3 Campanili” in Bogliasco.
It was a tough start for Atalanta, as Bontempi made the most of a poor clearance to give Sampdoria the lead. The Nerazzurri immediately reacted to it, and Renault forced a save from Saio on 25 minutes. Sassi prevented Sampdoria from doubling their lead in the 29th minute by parring Montevago’s shot. De Nipoti scored the equaliser in the 42nd minute thanks to a great move on the left and almost put Atalanta in front at the death of the first half as he hit the post. He finally gave Atalanta the lead in the opening minutes of the second half, as he turned a corner kick into the far post. Sidibe then made it 3-1 after a splendid give and go with Ceresoli. However, two minutes later Di Stefano pulled one back for Sampdoria following a corner. But two minutes were enough for Atalanta to be two goals up again: Pagani earned a penalty that was perfectly converted by Renault. And in the end, there was also time for the debut of the forward Cisse, who threatened in stoppages with a shot from the edge that was parried by the goalkeeper.
