Primavera Juventus 3-2 Atalanta

The decider was scored in the final minutes

The chance of drawing at the Juventus Training Center in Vinovo faded away in the final minutes, as Juventus won 3-2 on matchday 4 of the 2022/23 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship.

Atalanta got off to a strong start and threatened on 15 minutes with a Muhameti free kick that severely tested the Juventus goalkeeper. After a Rouhi finish that was over, it was still Fioretto’s team to almost take the lead in the 32nd minute with a beautiful team move. On 38 minutes, Juve came close to scoring with Strijdonck: his strike was off the post. However, the deadlock was broken in the 44th minute, as Vitucci set up Muhameti, who fired into the bottom corner and put Atalanta ahead at half-time.

In the second half, Bertini denied Yildiz on 49 minutes before surrendering to Turco’s finish from close range that made it 1-1 on 52 minutes. Juve turned the game around on 56 minutes, as Huijsen turned in a corner kick but Atalanta pushed hard looking for the equaliser, which arrived on 65 minutes through a Huijsen own goal. On 71 minutes Juventus had a chance to restore their lead with a penalty, but Strijdonck fired over from the spot. Atalanta also unsuccessfully claimed a penalty in the 79th minute for a Dellavalle foul on De Nipoti. Shortly after (82′), Atalanta went down to ten men when Chiwisa was shown a double yellow card and in the 88th minute, Juventus went ahead again with an unstoppable shot from outside the box from Valdesi, giving the Bianconeri the three points.
