On matchday 32 of the 2021-2022 Serie A TIM, Sassuolo win 2-1 at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia.

In the opening minutes, Sportiello turned Henrique’s deflected strike over the bar but the Nerazzurri came close to taking the lead in the 12th minute, as Pašalić was first denied by Consigli and then the crossbar. Then it was Traorè, who had already forced Sportiello to parry with his foot, to break the deadlock on 24 minutes with a scorcher into the roof of the net. Traore had another attempt two minutes later, which bounced off the post after a deflection. Sportiello parried Chiriches’ header on 31 minutes and Pašalič blasted over just before half-time.

In the second half, Sassuolo double their lead through Traore again on 61 minutes, who cut inside from the left and beat Sportiello with his right foot. Muriel tested Consigli in the 64th minute, Defrel hit the post on 81 minutes and in the final minute of injury time, Muriel made it 2-1. But there was no time left.
