Today’s pre-season friendly against Pergolettese, a team competing in the Serie C league, saw the Nerazzurri defeat the opposition 3-0 at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia. Our latest signing Scamacca hit the pitch in the second half and scored his first goal for Atalanta.

Zapata opened the scoring with a great goal just before half-time: the Colombian forward turned inside the box and fired a powerful shot into the roof of the net from a tight position. Zapata himself had been among the most threatening players in the first half, having had the most goalscoring chances.

The second half saw Scamacca make his Atalanta debut, taking just 9 minutes to appear on the scoresheet, as he received the ball from Muriel, shielded it with his body and spun around to blast a ferocious kick in. Immediately afterwards, Scamacca could have added another when he rattled the crossbar with a header. Muriel completed the scoring in the 88th minute, prodding it with his toes past the goalkeeper after a solo run.

Come tomorrow, Thursday 10 August, the squad will continue their preparations at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia as a behind-closed-doors training session will take place in the morning.
