After closing their rookie regular season in 5th with 59 points, Atalanta Under-23s will now be in for the first round of the Play-off stage: on Tuesday May 7, the Nerazzurri will have 10th placed Trento over in Caravaggio for a 20:30 CEST kick-off. The winning sides will gain access to Round 2 of the Group playoff stage. If the scores are levelled at the end of regular time, the team with the best final placement in the regular season’s standings, namely Atalanta U23s, will earn passage to Round 2.

Still unbeaten against the Yellow-blues, the overall scales are tipped in the Nerazzurri’s favour: namely, while the reverse fixture saw coach Modesto’s side draw 0-0 at the Briamasco stadium, it was Bonfanti who signed the U23s’ 1-0 win in the return game played in Caravaggio.

HOW BOTH TEAMS FARED ON MD38

Having already secured the 5th place in the standings thanks to the MD37 win home win over Pro Sesto, the Nerazzurri officially saw the regular season off drawing 1-1 at Arzignano courtesy of Cisse’s 17-seconds goal.

As for  Trento, the Aquilotti officially punched their ticket to the knockout stage at the 11th hour by defeating Renate 1-0 at home on MD38- thus closing the regular season in 10th.

Atalanta U23s vs. Trento will be officiated by Mr. Dario Di Francesco from Ostia Lido. His assistants will be Andrea Maria Masciale from Molfetta and Davide Rignanese from Rimini; Fourth Official: Eugenio Scarpa from Collegno; VAR: Marco Serra from Torino; AVAR: Orlando Pagnotta from Nocera Inferiore.
