UEL QF 1st leg: Important information for Atalanta fans travelling to Liverpool

The match is scheduled for Thursday 11 April

As reported by Liverpool FC, here is some useful information for Atalanta fans who will be travelling to Anfield for the first leg of the Nerazzurri’s UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie.

Liverpool FC strongly recommend that you download your ticket to your smartphone and also add it to your Apple or Google Wallet (although you should also take your hard copy with you). Full details of how to do this can be found in the “MOBILE TICKET INFORMATION” section printed on the ticket in PDF format.
Fans under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult inside the stadium. Unaccompanied under-16s will be refused entry.
All valid ticket holders are subject to the Liverpool FC Code of Conduct and Ticket Terms and Conditions.

Licenced Safe Standing

Safe standing areas have been introduced in the Away section to help keep supporters safe whilst watching the match.
1. You may be required to show your ticket when entering the safe standing area
2. Please do not climb or stand on the rails and seats
3. Please remain in or in front of your allocated seat whilst watching the match, your ticket is for your space only
4. Please do not stand in the Vomitories or on the steps to watch the match

This Code of Conduct supports the existing ground regulations and failure to comply with these may lead to you being removed from the ground and being subject to further sanctions.

Anfield Stadium Access
Atalanta fans will enter via entrances Q and R and must approach Anfield Rd from the direction of 97 Avenue. Turnstiles will open 2 hours before kick-off (18:00 local time) for visiting fans.

Prohibited Articles
The following items cannot be brought into the Stadium:
– Bags and suitcases over A5
– Laptops/computer tablets
– Musical instruments
– Megaphones
– Drums
– Large umbrellas
– Drink cartons, cans, flasks, plastic bottles over 500ml
– Glass bottles and drinking glasses
– Baby buggies and prams
– Drones
– Video recording equipment and large-bodied cameras
– Alcohol
– Tools
– Knives, weapons and laser devices
– Smoke canisters, fireworks, flares and air horns
– Food and drinks (except for clear 500 ml plastic bottles containing clear liquid with sealed top)

Bags
Only small handheld bags which do not exceed A5 size (148.5 x 210 mm / 5.8 x 8.3 inches). LFC Superstore clear carrier bag containing Superstore purchases only.
Larger bags will only be permitted at the discretion of LFC if they contain medication and/or medical equipment which cannot fit inside an A5 size bag.
All bags will be subject to a visual search before entry to the stadium.

Flags and banners
Flags under 2m x 1m with a small pole (less than 7mm diameter and less than 1m long) will be allowed in all areas of the stadium. Flags over 2m x 1m are permitted in the visitors section providing they have an accompanying fire safety and must be checked prior to entry. Flags must not contain anything considered to be offensive, discriminatory, defamatory or inflammatory, including politically motivated or nationalistic.

Payment
The stadium is cashless. Contactless and/or chip and pin payments are required in all areas. Kiosks will open serving a range of food and drink. Alcohol will be served on the concourses. Alcohol cannot be consumed in view of the playing area.

Transport to the Stadium
From the city centre to Anfield stadium is approximately a 60-minute walk. A taxi will cost approximately Euro 15, while there is also a bus service, which is fast frequent and convenient with ‘express’ services that will get you to and from Anfield and Liverpool City Centre in around 15 mins, and a train service (please check Liverpool FC website for further details).

Bus number 917 is operating from Commutation Row in the City Centre. Prices from £2.20 for a single journey, £4.40 for a return journey or £12 return ticket for groups of four are available. U19s can travel for just £1. You can find out more by clicking here.
If fans use the 917 please note there is a different pick-up point after the match to where they were dropped off at. The pickup point is Walton Lane, full details on the LFC website.

From Liverpool City Centre, take the 26 from Liverpool ONE bus station, 17 from Queen Square Bus Station or the 917 from St Johns Lane, directly to the ground. The 68/168, which operates between Bootle and Aigburth, and the 14 and 19 (from Queen Square) stop a short walk away from the ground.

The Soccerbus runs from Sandhills Station, on the Merseyrail Northern Line, to Anfield for all Premier League and cup matches. The Soccerbus runs two hours before each match (last bus from Sandhills Station is approximately 15 minutes before kick-off). You can find out more by clicking here.

Visitors coach
Atalanta Fans Coach Parking is on Arkles Lane, along Dahlia Walk to 97 Avenue, which is approximately 3 minutes away from the stadium. In accordance with local law, it is forbidden to bring alcohol on board a vehicle to attend a football match.

Alcohol
Whilst all supporters are welcome to enjoy the hospitality of the city centre, please note it is an offence to enter/attempt to enter the stadium whilst drunk. Anybody who has consumed too much alcohol will be refused entry/ejected from the stadium or arrested. It is also an offence to drink alcohol in the street.

Meeting Point
Atalanta supporters are welcome in all parts of the city however please allow at least 1 hour to travel to Anfield stadium. The designated meeting point is Arkles Lane outside the Arkles Public House. The appointed time to gather is 17:00hrs and the walk will commence at 18:00hrs.

Pyrotechnics
It is an offence to ignite pyrotechnics in a public place or to be in possession of pyrotechnics or to attempt to gain entry to and ignite inside the stadium. Any person who breaches this will be arrested. Fans are advised to arrive early at the stadium to allow enough time for necessary security checks. All fans will be subject to a soft ticket and body search prior to entering the turnstiles. Pyrotechnic and drug detection dogs will be present. Anyone found in possession of such items may be arrested.

Homophobic and Racist chanting
Homophobic and Racist chanting is unacceptable and will result in an arrest.

Smoking
Anfield is a totally no-smoking football stadium. Any person who smokes inside the stadium will be ejected. This includes electronic cigarettes.

Any person arrested may be kept in custody overnight to appear in front of a court the following day.
Fans without tickets for this fixture are urged not to travel to the game.
