Matchday 15 of the 2023-2024 Serie C Now culminated in a home mishap for Atalanta Under-23s, with Mantova imposing themselves 0-2 over the hosting side in Caravaggio.

While Vismara hogged the early spotlight with a key save on Mantova’s drive from the heart of the box after just 10 minutes, Atalanta Under 23s’ retaliation was not long in coming: just a minute later, Di Serio burst into the box and, after his attempt to dribble his way past Festa, went inches away from the goal. It was eventually Mantova who broke the deadlock on 32 minutes with a Trimboli shot.

The Nerazzurri were off to a great restart after halftime as Del Lungo neared the equalizing goal on 47 minutes with a shot in the box. Another chance for Atalanta on 49 minutes: after retrieving the ball in the opposing box, Palestra smacked the post. Coach Modesto’s team found a temporary equalizer with a Varnier header before the goal was eventually disallowed for an alleged offensive foul. On 82 minutes, Mantova doubled their lead with Monachello.
