Group A matchday 12 of the 2023-2024 Serie C NOW saw Atalanta Under-23s return to winning ways, as Modesto’s lads edged past Fiorenzuola at the Città di Caravaggio stadium.

After a few chances for both sides in the first half, with a ferocious Palestra cross into the box and a 12th-minute effort coming off the visitors that was parried by Vismara, a Di Serio 34th-minute shot to the back post was charged down by a defender.

The deadlock was broken in the 51st minute through Ceresoli, who fired the opener into the bottom corner assisted by Di Serio. The Nerazzurri came close to doubling their lead on 60 minutes through Capone, whose effort smacked against the crossbar. Capone had another go in the 64th minute when he set up Del Lungo with a backheel flick but the lads failed to capitalise on the chance. After Capone gave it another whirl with a long-range effort that was parried by Sorzi and Roaldsøy’s 94th-minute attempt to finish off the game was off target, the match ended 1-0 for the Nerazzurri.
