Group A matchday 10 of the 2023-2024 Serie C NOW saw Atalanta Under-23s come from behind to defeat Novara 3-2 at the Silvio Piola stadium in Novara, as second-half substitutes sparked a resounding comeback that handed the Nerazzurri their first historic victory away from home.
After a strong start from the hosts, in which Vismara denied Rossetti one-on-one in the 8th minute and Donadio opened the scoring for Novara on 22 minutes, the referee waved play on in the 42nd minute when Cissé was brought down in the box by Bertoncini.
Our Under-23 side completely changed in the second half, as Capone and Gyabuaa came off the bench to turn the game around. The former levelled the score in the 48th minute by firing into the top corner from outside the box, while the latter gave Atalanta the lead in the 50th minute by meeting Palestra’s daisy-cutter with a fierce finish. Caradonna’s volley pulled Novara level on 61 minutes before another substitute found his scoring ways, as Palestra unleashed a cross from the right and Ghislandi burst into the box to nod in the 85th-minute winner.
