WC: Mæhle’s run ends at the group stage

All Atalanta players debuted in Qatar 2022

Alas, the run of Joakim Mæhle’s Denmark in the World Cup ends at the group stage: the decisive fixture of matchday 3 saw Australia defeat 1-0 De Rød-Hvide, thus granting the Socceroos advance to the stage of the last 16 together with France. The Atalanta player featured in the starting XI, to be later subbed off 70 minutes into the match.

Tomorrow, Thursday, the 1st of December, Mario Pašalić will be the last black-and-blue player to play the closing match of the group stage, as Croatia are to take on Belgium; with the other fixture as of Matchday 3 for Group F being Canada v Morocco – both to be played at 16:00 CET.
Standing: Croatia and Morocco 4 points each, Belgium 3, Canada 0.

Both our Dutch midfielders Marten de Roon and Teun Koopmeiners have already punched their ticket to the stage of the last 16 and are already looking forward to the one-off match against the USA to kick off next Saturday at 16:00 CET.
