It was simple but at the same time very special. The giving ceremony of the Christmas Match shirts was as unique as the 12th edition of the charity auction itself. The venue for the event was the Gewiss Stadium, which was all lit up for the occasion. Last Friday evening, Friday 4 February, the protagonists were the winners of the shirt auction. Their generosity allowed Atalanta to collect the record amount of 35,120 euros, which was entirely donated to the Amici della Pediatria non-profit association, an important organization that volunteers at the ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo.

On behalf of the Club, Roberto Spagnolo, Atalanta BC COO, thanked “all those who participated in the auction, not only the winners but also those who, through their offer, contributed to raising the amount bigger and bigger. It is with pleasure that we immediately give all proceeds to an association with which Atalanta and the Percassi family have a long-standing relationship: the Amici della Pediatria association do a great job being close to children in the hospital”.

The Nerazzurri coach Gian Piero Gasperini gave the shirts to the winners: “The protagonists of this initiative were you fans, with your great generosity. On behalf of the team and myself, a sincere thank you because yours was the best match of Atalanta”.

The entire proceeds from the 12th auction of the Christmas Match jerseys have been donated to the Amici della Pediatria non-profit association and will allow them to support an important project, as explained by the President of the association Milena Lazzaroni: “With this donation, we will add an educationalist to our staff, who will be joined by a physiotherapist and a psychomotor specialist to also promote the movement of children during hospitalization, especially after surgery. With the inclusion of these professionals, we will be able to give precious and concrete help to the children in the hospital “.
