Countdown to Atalanta-Sassuolo

Last training week before the restart

The countdown to the resumption of the league has started. A single week of training separates the Nerazzurri from the first official fixture after the forced break due to the Covid-19 emergency that hit our country and in particular our province. Sunday 21 June at 19.30 CEST we restart from the game of the 2019-2020 Serie A TIM Matchday 25 to be played at the Gewiss Stadium with the tie against Sassuolo.

The Nerazzurri trained hard these weeks at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia in order to try to recover their shape after the halt for their return to the pitch 103 days after their last official match, on 10th March at the Mestalla against Valencia in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 2nd leg. 112 are the days from the last match of the league, the 7-2 win at Lecce on the 1st of March, and more than four months from the last time at the Gewiss Stadium, on the 15th of February in the victory over Roma.

The match played will be Atalanta-Sassuolo, which was initially scheduled for the 23rd of February, and then postponed until a later date. In the reverse match, at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia, the Nerazzurri collected their fourth consecutive away win from the start of the league: a 4-1 victory claimed in the first half thanks to Papu Gomez’s double and Gosens’s and Zapata’s goals.
