We counted at least 2, 3, 4 important saves. We are very happy because, after all this period, it was important to give a good sign. Restarting with a victory, to try to give a nice evening to our fans that as we know, it’s been a difficult time for us and for Bergamo, this city that has suffered a lot. It’s just a little first beginning, but knowing that, as we return to the pitch, there are families watching us from home and they’re happy that really makes us glad. We really wanted to win and we’re really happy that we’ve played our first match at home. Even though our fans weren’t there, hopefully, they can return very soon. We really wanted to win at home in an important match, especially for the points and to give our fans a nice night.

Sassuolo are tough and tricky opponents, also because they had started really well. They tried to attack you and to cause you troubles.

They started really well, in the first 25 minutes they gave us difficulties, we had some difficulties in creating chances. Then we started getting the hang of it. Scoring the opener and taking the lead helped us a lot but they gave us difficulties. We have to start well because we conceded too much. But I’m sure that we’re on the right path. And then they could reopen the match but you denied them all. As I said before, I was really determined to do well, I was pumped, I wanted to return to our stadium. I really wanted to win, just like my teammates. We wanted to play a great game and we did it. I’m happy, let’s keep going like this.
