Atalanta’s opponent in the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 will be known after UCL Monday’s draw in Nyon. A new historic moment for the club, that will join the best sixteen teams of the most important European competition, as they beat Shakhtar Donetsk and qualified as runners-up. The draw will take place at 12 on Monday 16th December in the traditional Swiss venue.

Atalanta, as they progressed in second place, will join the eight runners-up pot and will play the first leg at home while the return match away, together with Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Napoli, Olympique Lyon, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.

The opponent will be one of the group winners: Barcelona, Bayern Monaco, Juventus, Lipsia, Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Valencia. No team can play a club from their group or any side from their own association, so they won’t face Juventus and Manchester City.

The first leg will be played on 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th February, while the return match will be on 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th March.
