Academy, Mr Costanzi’s thoughts for 2021

The Head of the Academy is looking into the future

It is the end of the year for the Youth Academy, as well. Unlike in the past, it is not the time to make analyses but it is the occasion to look into the future with hope and faith. «It was an anomalous year – explained the Head of the Nerazzurri Youth Academy Maurizio Costanzi – and that is why it was difficult for everyone, including our boys and girls who weren’t able to exercise regularly. There was a long suspension due to, as we know, the health emergency that was caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. At this particular time of the year that we used to dedicate to the mid-season analyses, instead, we’d like to devote our thoughts to our young footballers, of all sections, from male to female activities, from competition activities to the basic activities. These thoughts are about the future. We want to instill optimism and make the young people look into the future with patience and with the same passion that they should always have».

«But it is also the occasion – continue Costanzi – to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who during these months brought forward our growth path despite having to cope with all the logistic and organisational difficulties caused by the completely new and anomalous situation. I refer to the coaches, trainers, medical staff, directors, collaborators and all the people who work in the Youth Sector and who with all their everyday work and passion make this big organisational machine move forward, adapting from time to time to the needs generated by this particular situation. We’d like, of course, to thank our boys and girls and their families that have always fully collaborated with us and were always helpful, always showing dedication and respect.

«Even during the most complicated times – concludes the Head of the Nerazzurri Youth Academy – we have always tried to continue our activities, offering remote lessons and training at home when the protocols required so and always giving full attention to the health of our members. We’ve continued and we will continue to work in order to be ready when we will be able to get closer to the normality, looking hopefully and optimistically into the future».
