Atalanta For Special: opening up 2024 with a win

Arluno 'A' Venezia defeated 5-1

Atalanta for Special ushered in 2024 with a win in the first game of the year: the Nerazzurri imposed themselves 5-1 over Arluno ‘A’ Venezia in the MD5 fixture of the DPCS league (Tier 3-Group B) contended, as usual, at the Play Sport Village venue in Busto Garolfo, Milan.

Hitting the ground running, Atalanta put the match on ice, taking the lead and doubling it within the first 10 minutes courtesy of Rota and Paolo Valota.

The Nerazzurri widened the gap and had their third of the day right before halftime with Francesco Pezzotti – who also bagged a brace in the opening of the second half.

Likewise, Valota scored a double, closing the game with Atalanta’s 5th and last of the game after the opponents’ consolation goal.

A most pleased coach Gianmario Lesmo – supported in his office by Roberto Birolini, Alfredo Locati, Leonardo Marcassoli and Nicolò Rota – wished to underscore the team’s notable growth: “The lads are getting more accustomed to the 7-a-side tactics, an absolute novelty before embarking on this new endeavour. Even though there’s still much work to do, the feedback we have registered so far are budding and thought-provoking”.

The next league fixture is scheduled for Saturday 10 February, in which the Atalanta For Special side will take on Liberi di Crescere on matchday 6.
