Atalanta For Special’s runaway over Arluno ‘B’ Venezia

4-0 walkover for the Nerazzurri

Despite the scramble for the top in the cards for Atalanta For Special, MD8 of the DPCS Tier 3-Group B saw the Nerazzurri sweep the board and defeat Arluno ‘B’ Venezia, the third force of the league, to secure their grip on the second place in the standings. Namely, the 4-0 win claimed at the Play Sport Village in Busto Garolfo (MI) came courtesy of Mirko Rota, Paolo Valota, Emanuel Bombardieri and Carlo Pezzotti.

MATCH REPORT

Off to a great start, Atalanta For Special took the lead as early as 2 minutes into the game through Mirko Rota, who capitalized on Mirko Bernini’s assist to open up the scoring. Despite the Nerazzurri racking up goal chances as Paolo Valota and Mirko Rota showed up in front of the goal time and again, the scoreboard stood still throughout the first half.

Opening up on the offensive, it was Carlo Pezzotti who ushered in the second half with two back-to-back clear goal chances for Atalanta. Despite Pezzotti’s best efforts, it was Paolo Valota, coach Lesmo’s current best goal-scorer, who doubled the Nerazzurri’s lead by converting Daniel Caccia’s key pass.
The third net of the game came through Manuel Bombardieri, who featured the scoreboard thanks to a powerful ranged shot.
After all his effort, Carlo Pezzotti found his just vindication in the end, as his elusive angled drive hit the back of the net to still the scoring on the final 4-0.

After skipping the match scheduled for March 23, Atalanta For Special will be back on the pitch on April 13 to face Arcobaleno Monza for the closing DPCS game of the season.
