The one and only Teun Koopmeiners, ladies and gentlemen! As the Oranje midfielder was rightfully crowned ItalianOptic Player of The Month for the May-June edition, Teun’s (yet again) fantastic season for Atalanta literally came full circle after his victory in the POTM awards for August and September!

We can safely say that what really tipped the balance in Teun’s favour and made our fans lean for Koop in the polls was the hat-trick scored against Monza on matchday 38 (and, well, who could possibly blame them?). Nor was it a hat-trick “like any other”, but a perfect one nonetheless: a headed goal to open the score sheet, followed by a right-footed one and the left-footed banger from the midfield line to top it all off – truly a sight to behold and already etched in the record books.

To boot, Koopmeiners also embellished his already stunning performance by assisting Højlund too: Teun was simply too much that night.

Second comes Davide Zappacosta, hot off his 31st birthday and inches away from the prize thanks to both the top-notch performances showcased throughout this final rush and the two bangers, both loosened from outside the box, scored against Spezia and Hellas Verona.

On the lowest step of the podium, yet making his fourth back-to-back appearance amid ItalianOptic’s Top-3, de Roon on the grounds of both his stunner scored against Spezia and, foremost, a prize to Marten’s many consistent performances throughout the season.

Kudos to Teun for his third Player of the Month award of the season, taking the lead in the race for the Atalanta player flaunting the most POTMs!
