On matchday 28 of the 2020-2021 Primavera 1 TIM championship, Atalanta claimed a very important 2-1 win over Genoa at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia: Ghislandi’s goal and a penalty from Cortinovis were decisive.
The Nerazzurri got dangerous in the 19th minute through Ghislandi that found Renault at the far post. He then back-heel flicked for Ghisleni, who was blocked by the defence when shooting. Two minutes later, Dajcar was tested by Boci’s header. Cortinovis had a shot inches wide in the 27th minute and then Ghislandi burst through the middle on 29 but his left-foot shot was poor. The goal eventually came in the 33rd minute at the end of a quick team move with Gyabuaa that sent Ghislandi clear on goal to score the opener. After Italeng nodded inches wide, the visitors equalised through Kallon in the 42nd minute.
After nine minutes into the second half, Italeng’s attempt was blocked by Serpe for a corner. The Nerazzurri restored their lead in the 15th minute, as Cortinovis converted a penalty (after a foul on Italeng was punished). Maglione responded to it for Genoa: his shot was turned over the bar. The lead lasted until the end and the final attempt came off Italeng in the fifth minute of stoppages: his lob from the halfway line went just wide. Thanks to this victory, the Nerazzurri climb up to 48 points. Another fundamental game to qualify for the playoffs is scheduled for Saturday away to Ascoli.
