Primavera Torino 1-0 Atalanta

Decide una rete nella ripresa

As the outing part of Matchday 19 of the 2022-2023 “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” Primavera 1 TIM tournament hosted at the Piola stadium di Vercelli drew to its close, the fixture culminated with Torino imposing themselves 1-0 over our Primavera.
Despite playing his very first minutes for Atalanta, Vlahović nonetheless tried his best to leave his mark ever since the start of the game: especially when, 21 minutes into the match, he dribbles his way to a left-footed shot, alas too angled. Right before, exactly on the 15’, Bertini deflected Corona’s up-close header with a key save. Apart from another chance from Torino (namely, a powerful yet too high shot from Dell’Aquila on the 29’), balance turns out to be the name of the game for the first half, with the Black-and-blues holding their ground well.

The openings to the second half are, respectively, a save on Vavassori’s shot followed by another save, this time from Bertini, deflecting loosened by Dellavalle. On the 54′ Passador, resorting to a miraculous save with his foot on Roaldsøy’s sure-fire shot, denies Atalanta scoring a potential match-opener that would have probabily turned the tide of the match. Three minutes later, on the 57’, Torino is as well in with a capital chance as Savva’s shot meets the crossbar. As Torino’s siege drags on, the host are once again inches away from the goal when, on the 62’, Nije, in an attempt to capitalize a previous rebound on Bertoli, ends up hitting the post once again.

The seal is finally broken on the 64’ as Dembele dishes out an assist for Ciammaglichella who, left free on the far post, taps the ball in scoring the opener.

On the 85’ the Nerazzurri are denied the chance to level the score: as Valvassori’s shot on a rebound, stemming from a previous save on De Nipoti’s chance, is walled off by a defender. With Bertini’s save on Nije on the 88’ being the last highlight of the match, the outing in Vercelli draws to its close with Torino eventually clinching a 1-0 victory.
