Vavassori hat-trick and a single goal by Manzoni

Atalanta’s Primavera side picked up three huge points on matchday 23 of the Primavera 1 TIM 2023-2024 league, as Vavassori’s hat-trick and Manzoni’s goal in their heavyweight clash with Torino at the Valentino Mazzola stadium in Orbassano resulted in a 4-1 away win for the Nerazzurri.

On the 23rd day of the Primavera 1 TIM 2023-2024 championship at the Valentino Mazzola stadium in Orbassano, the Nerazzurri won 4-1 thanks to Vavassori’s hat-trick and Manzoni’s goal.

Below are the official line-ups for Torino vs. Atalanta, the matchday 23 fixture of the 2023-2024 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league kicking off at 16:00 CET at the Valentino Mazzola stadium in Orbassano.

The Nerazzurri started on the front foot and threatened five minutes into the match with a Riccio header from Guerini’s cross that was parried by the Torino goalkeeper. On the resulting corner, Tavanti nodded off target. Atalanta’s strong start paid off in the 8th minute when Manzoni dispossessed the hosts and Vavassori finished off the chance with a lovely lob to put the Nerazzurri ahead. Riccio went close to doubling Atalanta’s lead with an 18th-minute effort that bounced off the post. A few minutes later, Fiogbe was denied by Marchioro’s desperate save. Torino went close when Njie’s 20th-minute close-range effort was off target and then equalised through Dell’Aquila on 32 minutes. Manzoni restored Atalanta Under-19s’ lead ten minutes later when the defender came at full stretch to meet Regonesi’s cross from the left and beat Abati, making it 1-2. The final chance on the stroke of half-time saw Muntu’s shot end off target.

In the second half, the Nerazzurri got their third of the afternoon as Comi intercepted the Torino goalkeeper’s goal-kick and sent Vavassori clear to make it 1-3 in the 51st minute with the second lob of the day. After our Under-19 side came close to scoring a fourth goal on 68 minutes through Colombo, whose effort was parried by Abati, Torino started piling on the pressure. In the 80th minute, Pardel pulled off two great saves to deny Perciun and the Njie, while Longoni shot wide from a promising position two minutes later. However, it was Atalanta who extended their lead, courtesy, once again, of Vavassori, who dribbled past a few defenders to score a hat-trick on 84 minutes. With a 4-1 away victory, the Nerazzurri climb up to 40 points and catch Roma in second place.
