Scalvini received the 2023 Best Italian Golden Boy

The Academy player wins the coveted Tuttosport award

Giorgio Scalvini was officially handed the 2023 Best Italian Golden Boy, the prestigious award established by Tuttosport and awarded by an international panel of sports journalists to the best Under 21 Italian player of the year. As part of the awarding rationale that tipped the scales in Scalvini’s favour, the panel wished to underscore “his commitment, his dedication and his footballing achievements”.

A prestigious award for the Atalanta defender born and bred in the Academy who, despite turning 20 within a few days, already has 72 appearances in all competitions to his name, embellished by 4 goals and 2 assists.

“Receiving such a prestigious award is a matter of utmost honour and joy for me – Giorgio eagerly stated -. I wish to thank all the people who have stood by my side throughout the years: from my family, my friends and my girlfriend to this Club, to which I owe all my footballing achievements. To me, this award is but a starting point, though the journey ahead is still long and there is still much to do and much room to be better”.

The Golden Boy ceremony, which was held Monday night in Turin concurrently with the league late fixture, was graced by the presence of Luca Percassi and Umberto Marino, CEO and Director General at Atalanta.
