One step at a time, also the activity of the Youth Sector resumed with the first training of the different teams. The first teams to train were the Primavera, the Under-18s and Under-17s who restarted after the forced stop and started preparing for the new season, while the U16s and U15s are set to resume this week.
A restart amidst many difficulties and uncertainties due to a completely abnormal and unprecedented general situation. These are intense and very demanding days for the head of the Youth Sector Maurizio Costanzi and his collaborators. “There is no doubt – explains Costanzi – that we are experiencing a particular year, a period that has marked everyone and that has also affected our youth sector. Unfortunately, we have lost important people who we will miss but will forever remember”.
“In these days – continued the head of the Nerazzurri youth sector – we resumed the activities in Zingonia with the first teams of the Academy who restarted working on the pitch. It’s the first attempt to pursue a path that hopefully can be a forerunner also for the little ones. Right now we have to face inevitable logistical and organisational difficulties. We are navigating by sight on everything, even the UEFA decided to put off some meetings of the youth national teams scheduled for September: no one can provide certainties at the moment. We restarted with great attention and taking all precautions for the safety of our players and all the people that work within the teams. We are facing a much bigger problem, a general one, that goes beyond football, all other activities and human relationships. These are problems that can arise from contact right now, from proximity and hanging around, which are situations that we find in football. That’s why a thousand precautions and great attention are needed”.
The desire to restart is not missing and is unchanged. The certainties come from the confirmation of the coaches of the competitive teams from Primavera to U15s: “We want to carry on a project that is consistent and has continuity”, explained director Costanzi.
