Brambilla: “Too bad, a wasted chance”

The Primavera Coach's comment

Massimo Brambilla analyzed the 3-3 draw away to Juventus on matchday 16 of the 2020-2021 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship: “Unfortunately, this is yet another wasted chance, as I think we put in a good performance, just like against Inter, Genoa and in many other matches. Right now, we are reaping less than we deserve, due to our demerit in some situations and today also due to Juve, as their leveller – which made it 3-3 – was a stunner. Certainly, we must also be self-critical, as the matches must be finished off when the opportunity arises. Perhaps, we must understand how to manage the final minutes differently. Even if, after we made it 3-2, we were in control of the game and they equalized with a shot from outside the box, which was a great goal actually. And it’s a shame because we are not far from being able to get a streak of consecutive victories. After all, the performances have been there, but something has always been missing up until now and this is something which we need to improve on”.

The match against Juve offered some solid and other less positive ideas that will still be useful in the growth path of the team. “Among the positive things I would include the first half. We played with personality and displayed a very high quality of play. In the first twenty minutes of the second half, Juve pressed us very hard and, unfortunately, we were unable to dribble. We struggled there. In my opinion, there was also a positive reaction after Juve made it 2-2: we started playing again, we created and we could have scored even earlier. We could have won, but that late goal took the wind out of our sails. However, we still had the opportunity to make it 4-3. So there is little to reproach the players for”.
