It’s Josip Iličić January’s ItalianOptic Man of the Month!

In the first phase, Atalanta fans chose their favourite through a poll, from which the two finalists came out. Josip Iličić then won over Robin Gosens at the end of a hard-fought head-to-head on Atalanta Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, winning the fifth seasonal contest in the month of his birthday.

The Nerazzurri number 72 was the protagonist of an epic January which was opened by the Slovenian forward scoring a double at the Gewiss Stadium against Parma, followed by the goals against Fiorentina and Spal and it ended with the sensational hat-trick in the 7-0 win over Torino. A total of seven goals in five games, some of them were really remarkable, like the volley against Spal and the 50 metres quick free-kick that surprised Sirigu, which has already been nominated as the best goal of 2020. Basically, numbers of a real top player.

All of this combined with unusual class and elegance, which the Nerazzurri fans have already had the chance to enjoy (Iličić reached his 100th appearance with Atalanta on 25th January) and can’t get enough of, as a banner dedicated to him says: “Iličić don’t stop making me dream“. Congrats Josip!
